Current Offerings - FSS 2018

In the spring/summer semester (FSS 2018), the Finance Area will offer master thesis topics for master students at the University of Mannheim. The organization of the master theses in the Area of Finance is centralized for the chairs listed below, however not all chairs may offer theses every semester. On this website you can find all general information regarding the master theses. For further details on the topics and other aspects that are specific to different chairs, please visit the websites of the respective chairs:

Chair of Corporate Governance

Chair of Risk Theory, Portfolio Management and Insurance

Future Offerings - HWS 2018

The finance area will offer master's theses in HWS2018. More information will be available on this website by mid August. For a general timeline of the process, you may refer to this document. Note that from HWS2018 on, it will be possible to write the seminar and master's thesis consecutively in one semester both in HWS and FSS.

You must have successfully completed a seminar from the Finance Area (here you can find the affiliated chairs) in order to participate. Some knowledge of statistics and econometrics is useful and participants should be motivated to undertake empirical work. In particular, having experience from an empirical seminar thesis is useful.

You should write your thesis in English.

Joint tutorials are offered by the chair of International Finance (Prof. Ruenzi), the chair of Corporate Finance (Prof. Maug), and the chair of Finance (Prof. Theissen). Please consult the homepage of the Chair of Finance (Prof. Theissen) for updated information.
